"Hydrogen economy"? "Ethanol Fuel"? All sound like great renewable energy solutions, but are they worth the trouble? Hydrogen is difficult to transport, the fuel cells that convert hydrogen to energy either operate at extreme temperatures thus requiring special materials, or they require the precious metal platinum as catalyst. Ethanol, or other liquid fuels, require extra energy input for distillation. Thus, these are all expensive solutions and WILL NOT satisfy our growing thirst for energy. At Vitroenergy, we are trying to develop a simple in vitro biobattery that would convert the energy stored in any common carbohydrates into electricity. Imagine, one day we will be able to simply buy starch or sucrose from local grocery stores and ditch them into our cars, and off we went to anywhere we want! THIS IS NO SCIENCE FICTION, check on our website in 3-4 years time from now (2006), you will be amazed at what science can do! Contact: Webmaster |
